Resumen (Presentación general del programa): This effort is a cooperative project between members of the Belize Ministry of Education, Library Administrators and the author of a children’s book addressing the critical issue of plastic pollution, a highly visible and growing environmental concern here in Belize. Roadways, rivers, and beaches are increasingly littered with single-use plastic waste. This problem is not only an eyesore but also a significant threat to our ecosystems, marine life, and human health. Flidgywumper Saves the Seas has received excellent reviews from environmental educators and features a forward by the director of the Plastics Pollution Coalition, an international organization dedicated to addressing plastic pollution. The story is designed to engage, entertain, and educate, but most importantly, it will inspire children and the adults in their lives to care and find solutions. Funds are needed to introduce the book into 301 schools, and 29 libraries. It will be accompanied with suggestions for activities.
